Terms of Use

1. General

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern the use of Matchcenter, which is provided by Matchcentermedia AB (the "Company"). The Terms are drafted in accordance with applicable European Union law, including but not limited to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR"), as well as Swedish law.

By accessing or using Matchcenter, the user agrees to be bound by these Terms in their entirety. The user is responsible for reviewing the Terms on a regular basis. The version of the Terms published on Matchcenter at any given time shall constitute the applicable and legally binding version.

2. Permitted use

Matchcenter may only be used for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable European Union law and national legislation. It is strictly prohibited to use Matchcenter to transmit, distribute, publish, store or otherwise make available any material that violates applicable laws, governmental regulations, or the rights of third parties.

In the event of suspected or confirmed misuse, the Company reserves the right, to the extent permitted by applicable law, to temporarily or permanently restrict, suspend or block the user's access to Matchcenter. The Company further reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings where deemed necessary.

3. Services, content and availability

Matchcenter provides informational and analytical services, including but not limited to match analyses, live results, final results, team line-ups and sports statistics. Such information may be provided in whole or in part by third-party data suppliers.

While the Company endeavours to ensure that the information made available on Matchcenter is accurate and up to date, no representations or warranties are made regarding the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of the information. All information is provided for informational purposes only. The user remains solely responsible for how the information is used and is encouraged to verify the information through independent sources.

4. Intellectual property rights

All content available on Matchcenter, including but not limited to text, graphics, databases, trademarks, logos and software, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights under applicable European Union and national legislation.

The user is granted a limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use Matchcenter for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Unless expressly authorised in writing by the Company, the user may not copy, modify, distribute, publish, reproduce, display or otherwise exploit any content made available on Matchcenter.

Any infringement of the above may result in civil and/or criminal liability in accordance with applicable law.

5. Personal data and data protection

In general, the use of Matchcenter does not require the user to provide personal data. However, when using certain supplementary services, the processing of personal data may be required.

The Company acts as the data controller for the processing of personal data and processes such data in accordance with the GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation. Personal data is processed solely for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes, primarily in order to provide the services and to communicate with the user.

In accordance with applicable data protection law, the user has the right to:

  • Request access to their personal data
  • Request rectification or erasure of personal data
  • Object to or request restriction of processing
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw any given consent at any time

Such requests may be exercised by contacting the Company. The user also has the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority within the European Union.

6. Third parties

Matchcenter may contain links to, or integrations with, third-party websites, services or content. Such links and integrations are provided solely for the user's convenience and do not imply any responsibility or liability on the part of the Company for third-party content, terms, services or processing of personal data.

Any claims, disputes or legal relationships arising between the user and a third party shall not affect or involve the Company.

7. Security

The Company implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure, in accordance with Article 32 of the GDPR. Notwithstanding these measures, the Company cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Limitation of liability

Use of Matchcenter is at the user's own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Company makes no warranties regarding the availability, functionality or content of Matchcenter.

Matchcenter is not a gambling or betting platform within the meaning of applicable gambling legislation. The Company does not offer any gambling services and is not involved in any betting or gaming transactions. Any analyses, odds or betting-related information made available on Matchcenter are provided solely for informational purposes.

To the extent permitted by mandatory law, the Company shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages, including financial losses, arising out of or in connection with the use of information provided on Matchcenter or the use of third-party services.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Matchcenter uses cookies and similar technologies in accordance with the EU ePrivacy rules and the GDPR. Cookies are used to enhance functionality, analyse traffic and personalise content and marketing.

The user is given the opportunity to consent to or refuse non-essential cookies. Any consent given may be withdrawn at any time via the user's browser settings or through Matchcenter's cookie management tools.

10. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be settled by the competent courts of Sweden, unless mandatory consumer protection laws within the European Union provide otherwise.
